Dr. Ernest Holmes
Dr. Ernest Holmes coined the name Religious Science in the early 1900's. He
immersed himself in the teachings and philosophies of the greatest minds in
history, studied all the world religions and approached religion from the perspective
of a spiritual science. He theorized that, if God is everything, there must be Spiritual
Laws, just as there are mechanical laws. He proved that theory to be true and what
he discovered is called Science of the Mind.
He wrote The Science of Mind® textbook
which is used as a guide in the teaching. Dr. Holmes referred
to Religious Science as "open at the top" meaning that Science of Mind
teachings are not locked into dogma. We are forever evolving in our understanding
of Spiritual Principles.
